Britpop on the decline - why?

Once a year the most embarrassing show on TV is aired. The eurovision song contest in all its glory gets an outing, hosted by some unlucky european country on which the most absymal music is inflicted.
The worst part is when the UK entry begins its song. For some unknown reason it’s always some aggressive hip hop style song which makes no connection with the public. the result? UK null points.
Why can’t the songwriters understand that music is about emotion, if they could just write something that connects, the UK would do far better in the eurovision song contest. Ah well, I suppose it will be the same again next year, no points for the UK again. Do you think it will ever happen that we win this song contest again?
