Cliff Richard to play Wembley yet again

For those who can’t stand the clean cut image of Cliff, there are the same number of others who will patiently queue in the rain for hours to buy Cliff Richard tickets. And so the former teen idol will be at Wembley Arena shortly, to perform his 60th gig there. Quite a record, only Elton John can claim similar figures.
For a pop idol, Cliff Richard’s private life has been remarkably secluded, few news reports come out of his love life and who he has been dating. Rumours persist that Cliff is gay, and that he can’t come out of the closet in the same way as Elton John because of his clean-cut image, as compared with Elton’s more rebellious and rock n roll lifestyle.
I think Cliff has made some great records, We don’t talk anymore for example, but others are unbelievably kitsch. If Cliff needs to up his CD and online download music sales, why not give The Sunday Times a nice exclusive and admit he is gay, (if that is the case).
Those going to his concerts are so committed and long term fans they may not care, but there is a whole world of new pop fans to conquer, any publicity is good publicity in the entertainment world, where different rules apply.

I think his fans would care. If he is pretending to be a Christian and a good moral person and he is not really living that lifestyle and is doing immoral things then he is not a Christian but a hypocrite. If some of his diehard fans find out he is not what they thought he was all these years then they would be devastated. Imagine how they would feel to know he was lying to them all this time.
