Michael Jackson - Ebony issue airbrushed?

Written by mascoteer.com staff

Michael Jackson - new album?Leading black iconic magazine Ebony has published new pictures of Michael Jackson showing the star singer with such white skin that journalists  are shouting AIRBRUSH! The pictures, particularly those on Ebony’s front cover are striking by the lack of facial lines (Michael is now in his 40’s) and glossy translucent skin.

Following his return to Las Vegas to raise cash to meet mounting debts, Jackson has found it difficult to get gigs. Promotors blow hot and cold, worrying about audience reaction following the traumatic trials alleging child abuse. There seems to be little interest in watching Michael Jackson perform, amazing given that just a few short years ago you could hardly hear him mime on stage because of the screaming of hysterical fans. But the world of Pop moves on, kids would rather hear Beyonce or Rihanna these days.

Auctions of Michael Jackson memorabilia have encountered similar fates, with sparsely attended halls and sales which barely pay cost, let alone the 20 to 50 million dollars hoped for. Reunions with the Jackson 5 have stuttered and look like fading. Where is the new album? What is to become of Michael, who was the most famous singer in pop history, and yet is despised by so many even though he was found not guilty of child abuse?.

  2. Oh yes, Mr Jackson will be the first person ever, in the history of modern media, to have his picture touched up. My God. The horror. What is the world coming to. Etc.

Also, in view of the intense amount of attention given to a simple photoshoot and interview, I suspect that Mr Jackson is quite capable of generating further income, should he choose to make the effort.

  3. The problem for Michael Jackson, and why he went to Las Vegas, is to stave off bankruptcy. His last album bombed.

I am a fan of his talent and music and hope he can get a major record label to release another album, but I’m not sure that is possible given the public response to his last music cd and the child abuse trials of which he was found innocent.

  4. You need a good base to start photoshopping and MJ obviously has it. His face is much better shape now than in the past years and has a body to die for.

  5. Annika is right, every “friendly” photo of a celeb that you see is airbrushed / photoshopped / retouched. The reason is simple: Celebs, including Michael, have facial imperfections that we overlook in person but notice in photographs.

Changing the shade of the skin and minimizing wrinkles are so basic, so essential and so universal, it’s hardly fair to complain about them.
